Bell Building Projects Ltd - Business Glasgow Support

Bell Building Projects Ltd is a Glasgow-based construction business specialising in design and build projects and cladding remediation works. Established in 1982, the company has developed extensive industry experience while continuing to invest in its people, operations and long-term growth.

As the business looked to the future, the team identified opportunities to improve the sustainability of its Glasgow head office, strengthen its approach to procurement and tendering, and further develop the capabilities of its middle management team.

Bell Building Projects began working with Business Glasgow at the end of 2025, receiving initial grant support in February 2026. The business accessed assistance through the Green Business Support Programme, the Glasgow Business Growth Programme and the Digital Development Programme.

Green Business Support grant funding enabled the company to make greener, more considered choices as it developed its head office. This included LED lighting and insulation upgrades, helping to improve the environmental performance of the space while creating a better working environment for staff.

Through the Glasgow Business Growth Programme, Bell Building Projects also received consultancy support focused on tender submissions and procurement. The support helped the team improve its understanding of procurement requirements, upskill staff involved in the bidding process and adopt a more structured approach to suitable opportunities.

By reviewing bids and strengthening how the business communicates its experience, capabilities and value, the consultancy has helped Bell Building Projects improve its approach to tendering. This will support the company in competing more effectively, strengthening its pipeline and pursuing sustainable growth.

The business also accessed leadership and management development support through the programme, with a particular focus on role clarity, accountability and communication across its middle management team. This investment is intended to give managers greater confidence to make decisions, take ownership of their teams and lead more effectively.

Strengthening leadership capability will also help reduce reliance on senior management and improve accountability throughout the business. Together, the procurement and management support will help Bell Building Projects build greater resilience and establish strong foundations for longer-term development.

Throughout the process, Business Glasgow adviser Irene Holding provided positive and efficient support. The combination of grant funding and specialist consultancy enabled the company to progress its environmental ambitions while investing in areas central to its future growth.
