Jenny started Sew Confident – the UK's only sewing tuition franchise – in 2012.
Sew Confident run a range of sewing classes catering to all ages and skill levels. Their aim is to ensure everyone takes away the invaluable creative skills necessary to sew/craft/make on their own whilst enjoying themselves, meeting new like-minded people and most importantly de-stressing!
Since establishing Sew Confident, the company has continued to grow and hit finite capacity in their old premise. Sew Confident recently expanded into a larger studio and retail premise allowing them to offer more classes, employ more people, stock more fabric, and bring the joy of sewing to even more people!
The new store, located on Great Western Road, is much more visible and will become a hub where sewers of all abilities are inspired to test their creative skills, de-stress and enjoy taking time for themselves.
The retail aspect of Sew Confident has also flourished over the last two years as more people took up sewing and dressmaking!
Like many other businesses, Sew Confident had to adapt to Covid-19 restrictions and moved to online classes. Sew Confident successfully transitioned to online teaching and learning and was able to continue classes throughout this period.
Jenny has worked with Business Glasgow through the Glasgow Business Growth Programme and accessed strategic advice that developed a new strategic growth plan for the next five years.
The business support facilitated a coherent plan for growth and allowed Jenny to prioritise growth across different aspects of the business.
