Food delivery giant to open Edinburgh office as it builds on acquisition of capital tech firm Cultivate.
Takeaway delivery firm Deliveroo has accelerated its expansion in Edinburgh by unveiling plans to create the company’s first “tech hub” outside London.
The firm bought Edinburgh-based software developer Cultivate last year and outlined ambitions to create 50 jobs within three years. That target has now been upgraded to 70 roles during the next 12 months, with the firm due to move from its existing site at the city’s Codebase incubator into its own office in April.
The new roles will include software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers, who will focus on the company’s payments system, improving the experience for riders and customers, and global projects such as helping restaurants with their budgets.
