Glasgow City Council today (22 June) approved the delivery of a Covid Economic Recovery Support Programme.
Through the Scottish Government’s £80 million Covid Recovery Fund, Glasgow City Council received £9.456 million to deliver a support programme to low-income households. The funds will be used to administer a Covid Economic Recovery programme providing Scotland Loves Local gift cards worth £105 to around 85,000 low-income households in the city.
The Scotland Loves Local campaign is a national initiative designed to encourage all those who live in Scotland to think local first and support their high streets.
The gift cards can be used at registered businesses in Glasgow. There are currently 660 businesses across the city registered, with a further 385 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the process of registering.
