If your business is facing rising energy costs, one tool to help manage this is a carbon baseline assessment. Glasgow City Council, in partnership with the University of Strathclyde, now offer free carbon baselines through the Extend Plus Programme. This new initiative is aimed at supporting local businesses in their journey to Net Zero and climate resilience, whilst also helping to address the pressures of rising energy costs.
As part of Glasgow’s Green Deal, the Extend Plus Programme offers businesses a free Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Carbon Baseline. This baseline provides a comprehensive assessment of a business’s annual GHG emissions which then gives a basis to understand your existing carbon footprint. Companies who undertake the assessment are also provided with recommendations for reducing emissions and making cost savings.
This programme is offered at no cost to the business and is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
