TEDxGlasgow announces disruptive ‘Lead or Follow’ theme for its biggest event yet

TEDxGlasgow announced the ‘Lead or Follow’ theme for its fifth flagship event to be held on 2nd June at The SEC Armadillo, formerly known as The Clyde Auditorium, in Glasgow. Delegates from all over the UK will come together to explore the theme of leading and following through a variety of talks on subjects from technology and education to science, the third sector, the arts and design.

After a roaring success at last year’s event at the Theatre Royal, with speakers from BrewDog, BBC, the world of couture fashion and Sophos, TEDxGlasgow is expecting over 1800+ delegates to attend, once again growing their audience, which from 2012 to 2016 has doubled in size year on year. TEDxGlasgow is one of the biggest established TEDx events in the UK and Europe.

The ‘Lead or Follow’ theme aims to explore how both leading and following contribute to ongoing innovation and development across all areas of our society. Speakers will challenge audiences to consider when is best to lead and when to follow, and how these roles have been shaped by technological advances, consumer behaviour and much more.

The TEDxGlasgow team has also launched the TEDxGlasgow Award this year for the very first time, offering the winner the chance to be coached by the brightest business coaches in the UK.

Gurjit Singh Lalli, curator of TEDxGlasgow and entrepreneur, says: “TEDxGlasgow 2017 is going to be a celebration of Scotland's brightest and best. We are not your average industry event, we cross into all fields and disciplines to really uncover topics worth exploring and unite thinkers from all different backgrounds. As an organisation, we don't just believe in ideas worth sharing, we focus on ideas worth doing. We are driven to create lasting impact and positive change in both our local Glasgow communities and further afield.”
